What is an action plan?

An action plan is a road map to your personal financial goals. Some clients like to refer to it as their “to do” list or step by step guide to achieving their financial goals and objectives. The action plan may include one of more of the following: a financial statement, a budget, an acceleration plan, a resolution plan, results from completed exercises and or assignments from coaching/consulting exercises and tips and techniques for the successful implementation of your plan.

Most plans will include a financial statement, a budget plan as well as a repayment acceleration plan or a debt resolution plan. Tips and techniques for successful implementation of the action plan will be provided to all clients who purchase their action plan. No plan will have all four mentioned items and no plan would have the acceleration plan and the resolution plan. Clients who choose ongoing consulting or coaching services will also receive results from completed exercises and future assignments.

A repayment acceleration plan (RAP) – this plan is for clients who are not having financial difficulties. These clients have two goals. 1. Paying their debt off sooner. 2. Paying the least amount possible in interest and finance charges. This plan shows clients who to pay and how much to pay each month in order to maximize results.

A debt resolution plan (DRP) – this plan is for clients who are struggling financially. These clients need help getting payments lowered, getting interest and finance charges reduced. This is where the proposals come in. We submit the proposed amounts to the “credit counseling” or “hardship” departments found at each creditor. This written plan will show clients who to pay and how much and for what length of time.
